Imagine a world where the electrifying beats of EDM seamlessly blend with the infectious rhythms of K-pop, where massive stages and intimate concert venues compete for the hearts of music lovers. Welcome to “We The Fest” (WTF), a dazzling kaleidoscope of sound, culture, and youth energy… or so most people thought.
Contrary to expectations, WTF Festival’s tenth anniversary failed to capture the audience’s attention, with many voicing their disappointment.
Based on our interviews and observations at the event, numerous Indonesian youths expressed their frustration, labeling this year’s festival as a flop due to an uninteresting lineup and an overall experience that paled in comparison to previous years.
Wonderland of Youth Events
Imagine stepping into a vast, colorful wonderland where music, art, and culture collide. Festivals like We The Fest (WTF) are all about exploration and adventure. You’re not just there to see one artist; you’re there to discover new sounds, meet new people, and create unforgettable memories.
With multiple stages, art installations, food trucks, and endless activities, a festival is a sensory overload in the best possible way. It’s about wandering from stage to stage, catching a mind-blowing EDM set, and then stumbling upon a mesmerizing indie band. Festivals are where you can lose yourself in the music and find yourself in the magic of the moment. At least, that’s the idea.
Festivals are supposed to offer a more diverse and immersive experience than concerts, aiming to provide something for everyone. The strategy is to attract a wide array of music lovers, from those seeking the communal rush of EDM to fans devoted to the precision and passion of K-pop.
