A Dive into Conscious Living Across Indonesia’s Youth
In 2023, American-Mexican Gen Z musician Ivan Cornejo held a solo concert titled the ‘Therapy Tour’. The inspiration for incorporating ‘Therapy’ into the tour name came when he stumbled upon a message from a fan stating, “Your music saves me!”
The term “therapy” is typically associated with medical contexts, illnesses, and healthcare practitioners. However, it’s taken on a new meaning in the realm of entertainment, being used to describe a solo concert by a musician whose songs have previously climbed the ranks of the Billboard Hot 100 charts. As a result, the concert tour emerged as a form of ‘therapeutic escape’ for the attending young audience.
In Indonesia, as the new year begins, musician Kunto Aji sets the tone for 2024 with the Urup Concert. Serving as an early-year highlight, the concert revolves around three core themes: Wellness, Local, and Art. Held in an outdoor natural setting, the event tackles wellness issues. As part of the concert experience, Kunto Aji encourages attendees to engage in meditation at the Ruang Tenang by Sanustra.
The socially-driven community, Sanustra, unveils an art installation dubbed “Ruang Tenang (Tranquil Space),” offering a multi sensory journey to foster self-awareness and a deeper appreciation for life. Through the use of natural and cultural elements, this installation aims to reawaken the senses of visitors.
In a tea meditation session, Sanustra partners with artisanal tea brand SoulFree Herb Tea to introduce “MeditaTea.” The tea utilized is none other than the premium-grade Nusantara tea.
In another corner of the internet, Dr. Faiz Fahrudin, through his philosophical series “Ngaji Filsafat,” and mindfulness expert Adjie Santoso, delve into discussions about mindfulness in their content. These discussions garner widespread consumption as they are seen as providing answers to the anxieties and worries of the younger generation.
